A: You’ve heard correctly!  In fact, I would have to say West Michigan has great towns all along the Lake Michigan coast offering a variety of activities.  The Saugatuck/Douglas area is only about 11 miles south of Holland and is a quaint, artsy town that attracts people from all over the world.  For more detailed information, I would suggest visiting The Official Travel and Tourism Site of the Saugatuck – Douglas Michigan Convention and Visitors Bureau at http://www.saugatuck.com/index.asp. You can also request a visitor’s guide off of this website.

Did you know that Ottawa County was voted the healthiest county in Michigan?  Click here to read about it!  We love the outdoors.  We hope you take time to visit Holland – we have so much to offer including so many outdoor activities, parks on Lake Michigan and the City of Holland’s downtown.  8th Street Downtown offers great shops, restaurants, brew pubs, art studios, outdoor entertainment and a great farmers market, just to name a few.  See www.downtownholland.com for more information.

Have a wonderful vacation in West Michigan!
