I am a 17 year old girl living in Tennessee. I am originally from the east side of Michigan and am hoping to move back up in a year. I wanted to hear from someone who has actually lived there how things were in Holland. I want to know if it’s a good place to get married and start a family, as well as for a network marketer and author such as myself. Thank you for the input!

A: Hello and thank you for your email.  Great to hear you are hoping to move back to Michigan!  We love living here.   Why?  Because Holland is a beautiful area and the City of Holland has a lot to offer all lifestyles and age groups.  The City of Holland offers so much to do any time of year, and we are lucky to live near other great towns and cities of different sizes, a 2-1/2 hour drive to Chicago and of course Lake Michigan.

The City of Holland offers a variety of neighborhoods that include different housing options from apartments to townhouses, from small to large lots and newer homes to historic homes, to give some examples.  Of course families fall into any of these housing choices, but we also pride ourselves in our schools, parks, sense of community, diversity, career opportunities, walking capabilities, public transportation an award winning downtown (Downtown Holland: America’s Best Main Streets in America according to Parade Magazine, August 17, 2014 (Click HERE for more information) and hospital – just to name a few.  It’s no wonder we have been known to be one of the “Happiest Places in America”

We hope all this information gives you a glimpse into life here in the City of Holland.  I also encourage you to reach out to the City’s Youth Advisory Council and maybe connect with others with the same goals and aspirations as yourself.  (Click HERE for contact information).
